Portable Decontamination Systems

The COBRA First Response Decontamination Kit is an emergency first aid kit which can be used on personal protective equipment and unprotected parts of the body. This potable decontamination system is small and light in weight, which can be carried easily.

It is used for primary treatment after contamination especially when warfare agents have been used. This kit is designed to adapt to operations during which operatives may come into contact with small quantities of unknown chemicals or biological warfare agents. It protects the operator and allows them to continue their tasks.

COBRA-FRDK – It helps to reduce the risk for the first responders that are involved in the removal of warfare agents. Using this, operator can make a first evaluation of the potential danger. It allows the mechanical or chemical removal of contamination by warfare agents. COBRA-FRDK helps to prevent secondary contamination. It has been made from products which have been tried and proven in the field during years of different operations.

The pressure spray bottle COBRA, developed by OWR, is the heart of the COBRA FRDK (First Response Decontamination Kit). Spray bottle COBRA, which is made of stainless steel is resistant against all known decontamination and disinfection agents. The COBRA uses a hand pump to build up pressure for spraying so it can be transported in a non-pressurized condition. After filling the device with the decontamination and disinfection agent GD-6, the hand pump is used to generate an internal pressure. By opening the spray-valve the GD-6 can be sprayed on to the contaminated area. Depending on the operation needs the device can be used with or without the extension hose.

More GD-6 can be applied to areas of thick contamination. Dusty, viscous, gluey or thick layered contaminations can be removed by the towels, spatula or brushes in the kit. This should be done before applying the GD-6 After rinsing with clear water the decontamination soap can be used for cleaning the skin. Any open wounds must to be treated medically
