Woodward’s HSTA systems are successfully fielded on FAR Part 23-certified aircraft
Woodward HSTA (Horizontal Stabilizer Trim Actuation) systems are currently in use worldwide on a variety of demanding aerospace, defense, and business jet applications. Our trim actuator works with a remotely mounted ECU (Electronics Control Unit) to provide high-system availability and ensure all safety goals are met.
Woodward’s ECU has two fully independent channels of control and contains a number of features:
- Structurally redundant load paths
- Electrically redundant power drives
Woodward’s HSTA systems are successfully fielded on FAR Part 23-certified aircraft. In addition, we are undertaking a significant Research and Development effort to develop an HSTA system suitable for certification on FAR Part 25 aircraft. The new system will incorporate digital control electronics and secondary structural elements to annunciate their engagement.
