Introduction:

Elbit Systems has announced that it has secured a follow-on contract worth approximately $127 million to provide Iron Fist Active Protection Systems (APS) to General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems (GD-OTS). These systems will be used for upgrades to the U.S. Army’s Bradley M2A4E1 Infantry Fighting Vehicles (IFVs).

Features:

The Iron Fist APS is an advanced Hard Kill system designed to improve the self-defense capabilities of both light and heavy armored platforms against modern battlefield threats. It is the Israel Defense Force’s second-generation APS, known for its high performance while maintaining low volume, weight, and power requirements.

This system offers 360-degree protection against a wide range of anti-tank threats, including Anti-Tank Rockets (ATR) and Anti-Tank Guided Missiles (ATGM).

The contract will be carried out over 34 months.
