Cinch Connectors and Derek Lane this week received the SC21 Bronze Award at DSEi 2013 in recognition of their continued development and improvement of supply-chain performance. This industry level award, recognised as being the standard of excellence across the aerospace and defence industries, is awarded to companies who have reached levels of excellence in service delivery and manufacturing quality. The awards ceremony, hosted by ADS which leads the programme at a national level, , was attended by over 50 industry leaders companies who came together to congratulate Cinch Connectors, a multi-national manufacturer of interconnect products with over 100 years’ experience, and Derek Lane; fluid power engineering specialists who work across a wide range of industries. Phil Curnock, Head of Supply Chain at ADS, leads the SC21 programme. He commented: “Both companies have worked incredibly hard to achieve the SC21 Bronze award and this achievement shows they are in the best position to achieve business growth by through improvements to increase operational efficiency.” The award is a recognised accreditation from the Supply Chains for the 21st Century programme- commonly referred to as SC21- which is an improvement programme designed to increase the performance of suppliers, and ultimately their supply chains, within the UK aerospace and defence industries. ADS work with signatory companies, regional trade associations, strategic partners and accredited training providers to administer the SC21 programme which helps lower set-up times, improve lead time reduction and increase sales per employee. There are currently over 600 signatories on the programme.
