Significance of Electromagnetic Signatures in ships and submarines

Electromagnetic Signatures play a significant role in the naval industry and the importance of electromagnetic signatures in ships and submarines can’t be ignored.

Polyamp designs, manufactures and supplies Electromagnetic Signature Management Systems for naval organizations and shipyards. The company manufactures systems using Advanced Degaussing Systems with distributed loop-coil amplifiers and Magnetometer Control on all types of vessels, MCM, Corvettes, Frigates, Conventional Submarines, Carriers and other and larger vessels for optimum signature compensation.

The magnetic signature can be used as the trigger in torpedoes and moored mines. Now these magnetic signatures have been used in combination with another electromagnetic signature called Underwater Electric Potential UEP, which in proximity of the vessel has a similar trigging capacity as the magnetic field.

Sensors for these electromagnetic signatures can easily be used in underwater weapons and related countermeasures on-board naval vessels must therefore be a part of the vessels self-defence.
