Introduction:

Teledyne FLIR Defense, a division of Teledyne Technologies Incorporated, has secured a $15 million contract from the U.S. Army Contracting Command-Aberdeen Proving Ground (ACC-APG) to supply over 150 ThermoSight® HISS-XLR weapon sights to a NATO partner country.

Features:

The ThermoSight® HISS-XLR is a clip-on thermal weapon sight designed to assist snipers and precision shooters in detecting and identifying man-sized targets at distances exceeding 2,000 meters.

This versatile sight mounts easily on any MIL-STD-1913 rail interface in front of an existing scope and is compatible with a broad range of day scopes and weapon platforms. It features long-range optics and an HD display for sharp imagery, while its portrait orientation helps counteract bullet drop at extreme distances.

The HISS-XLR enhances mission effectiveness for snipers and long-range shooters, underscoring its global importance and our ongoing commitment to advancing our ThermoSight line of combat-tested solutions.

Manufacturing and service work will take place at FLIR Defense’s facility in Billerica, Massachusetts. Deliveries commenced this spring and are scheduled to continue through 2024.
