Introduction:

Raytheon, an RTX business, has secured a $1.7 billion contract to deliver four Patriot® air and missile defence systems to Spain.

Features:

Raytheon is working with Spanish defence firms, including Sener, which is supporting the electro-mechanical control system for the GEM-T missile as part of the global Patriot supply chain.

Patriot is the only combat-proven, ground-based air and missile defence system capable of countering long-range cruise missiles, tactical ballistic missiles, and a wide range of air-breathing threats.

Supported by an advanced command-and-control system, Patriot has intercepted hundreds of sophisticated aerial threats in conflicts worldwide. It forms the backbone of air defence for 19 countries and continues to demonstrate strong performance against advanced threats and large, complex attacks.
