Introduction:

Raytheon, now part of RTX, has secured a $192 million contract from the U.S. Navy to enhance the Next Generation Jammer Mid-Band Expansion (NGJ-MBX), which is an upgrade to the existing Next Generation Jammer Mid-Band (NGJ-MB) system.

Features:

This upgrade will broaden the frequency range of the NGJ-MB system, allowing it to address additional threats. The MBX will enhance capabilities to boost operational effectiveness.

The NGJ-MB, including the MBX, is a collaborative development and production initiative with the Royal Australian Air Force. It features an airborne electronic attack system that comprises two pods equipped with active electronically scanned arrays operating in the mid-band frequency range.

The U.S. Navy uses the NGJ-MB on the EA-18G GROWLER® to target sophisticated electronic warfare threats.
