Introduction:

Elbit Systems Ltd. announced that it has secured contracts worth around $210 million from the Israel Ministry of Defence to upgrade Merkava Main Battle Tanks (MBTs).

Features:

Under these contracts, Elbit Systems will carry out a major renewal of the tanks’ electronic assemblies to extend their operational life. The work also includes upgrading and enhancing several onboard systems. These upgrades feature lightweight, high-performance, AI-enhanced electro-optical sights that offer panoramic day and night observation, as well as advanced target detection, acquisition, and tracking. The contracts also cover spare parts and full maintenance and support services.
