York Space Systems Establishes Successful Communications with Final Delivery on Tranche 0 Program

4 September 2023

York Space Systems, the aerospace company based in Denver, dedicated to expediting complete space mission solutions, has achieved successful communication with its ultimate spacecraft launched into orbit for the Tranche 0 (T0) Transport program, a critical component of the Space Development Agency's (SDA) Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture (PWSA). These satellites were carried into space aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket, launched from Vandenberg Space Force Base on September 2.

This final spacecraft delivery signifies the culmination of York's delivery of all T0 satellites to the SDA, reaffirming its unwavering commitment to the SDA's overarching vision and the broader PWSA initiative.

Dirk Wallinger, CEO of York, expressed, "This significant milestone not only underscores York's dedication to agile and responsive satellite deployment but also represents the successful fulfillment of our T0 spacecraft delivery obligations in alignment with the SDA's vision. Establishing communication with our satellites shortly after launch underscores our dedication to reliability and performance and serves as a testament to SDA's Spiral Development Approach. Our focus now shifts to the subsequent phases, particularly our active development for Tranche 1."

Following their deployment, the T0 satellites will undergo an exhaustive series of tests and system checks to ensure the functionality of their mission payloads. Subsequently, these satellites will commence demonstrations of their capabilities.

In parallel with these ongoing projects, York is concurrently advancing the development of 42 satellites to support the SDA's Tranche 1 (T1) of the PWSA, scheduled for launch in late 2024. Additionally, York is making strides in developing 12 experimental satellites as part of the Tranche 1 Demonstration and Experimentation System (T1DES) program, which is anticipated to launch in 2025.
