22 September 2023

Leidos, a prominent science and technology leader listed on the FORTUNE® 500, has been recently awarded a prestigious prime contract. This contract is geared towards providing critical combined joint all-domain command and control (CJADC2) analysis and support to the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Joint Staff (JS) J6 Joint Assessment Division (JAD). The contract, structured as a cost-plus-fixed-fee, single-award arrangement, encompasses a performance period spanning five years and six months, with an approximate total value of $74 million.

Will Johnson, the Senior Vice President of Leidos Defense Group and Operations Manager for Logistics and Mission Support, expressed enthusiasm regarding the contract, emphasizing the company's extensive 31-year history of collaboration with the Joint Staff and other DoD entities. He highlighted Leidos' purpose-built team, equipped with unique domain expertise and analytical capabilities, poised to aid JAD in accomplishing its mission. The objective is to expedite decision-making capabilities for the nation's warfighters in the evolving landscape of CJADC2.

Under this contract, Leidos will play a pivotal role by delivering a range of services, including analytical, engineering, and deployable support, all geared towards bolstering JAD's operational analysis efforts. This will encompass the demonstration, experimentation, and evaluation of both emerging and field-tested command and control (C2) information systems and procedures. Leidos will work closely with JAD to generate high-quality, decision-enabling data aimed at enhancing Joint C2 interoperability across various automation and cloud platforms.

JAD holds a critical position within the U.S. military establishment, providing the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff with a robust capability for conducting comprehensive analysis of joint missions. This spans from controlled laboratory environments to the complexities of operational theaters. The outcomes of these assessments are data-driven insights and recommendations, supporting critical decisions to enhance Joint C5I (Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber, and Intelligence) and interoperability, ultimately contributing to a more potent and effective military force.
