General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems (OTS), a division of General Dynamics has been awarded an initial task order worth $218 million for the 155mm M1128 Load, Assemble, and Pack (LAP). This task order is part of a multiyear firm-fixed-price contract valued at $974 million, jointly awarded to OTS and another company by the U.S. Army. It encompasses funding for the facilitation and production of M1128 at OTS's operations located in Camden, Arkansas.

In February 2023, OTS secured a similar contract for M795 LAP facilitation, aimed at producing 20,000 rounds per month. Together, these two contracts will support the establishment of new LAP capacity, enabling the production of 50,000 rounds per month by 2025.

This contract will finance the establishment of a LAP facility that incorporates modernized processes and air-cooling technology, with the goal of enhancing the quality and efficiency of the 155mm artillery LAP process. Furthermore, it aims to adopt environmentally responsible practices to minimize hazardous waste.
