Curtiss-Wright Awarded $34 Million Contract to Provide Airborne Data Recorder Technology to the U.S. Navy

Curtiss-Wright Corporation has proudly announced its successful bid for a five-year, $34 million firm-fixed-price indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract from the Naval Surface Warfare Center. This contract is aimed at delivering state-of-the-art Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA) based airborne data recorder technology to be utilized on both U.S. and Australian manned and unmanned maritime aircraft.

Under the terms of this agreement, Curtiss-Wright will be responsible for supplying and maintaining the Keyed Broad Area Maritime Surveillance Airborne Recorder (K-BAR) Network Attached Storage (NAS) solutions. This comprehensive offering includes chassis, docking stations, removable storage modules, and lab cable sets.

Curtiss-Wright is recognized as a leading supplier of MOSA-based encrypted, solid-state network-attached storage subsystems. In this capacity, they will supply the NSWC with commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) open architecture K-BAR NAS equipment that will support both MQ-4C Triton and future PMA-290 aircraft. Notably, this sole source contract encompasses training and engineering services support for the K-BAR equipment.
