MADISON, Miss., Dec. 12, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Vertex Aerospace has been awarded a Prime seat in the Department of the Navy's SeaPort Next Generation multiple award contract vehicle. This will allow Vertex to compete for future U.S. Naval support service opportunities valued at $5 billion per year.

The SeaPort-NxG awards were issued to a limited number of businesses spanning 46 of the 50 United States, as well as the District of Columbia and Guam. Bids for awards were evaluated based on the bidding companies' past Naval contract experience and the technical aspects of the submitted proposals.

Vertex currently provides commercial air services, maintenance, and supply-chain support to six U.S. Navy contracts, several of which the global aerospace company has supported for over 20 years. Vertex President and CEO Ed Boyington says long-term contracts and awards like this are a testament to the technical expertise and high-quality support the Company's skilled artisans provide to its customers.
