The UK Trade and Investment Defence and Security Organisation (UKTI DSO) defence trade organisation is targeting opportunities globally as it increases its connectivity with other branches of the UK government and with industry.

Speaking to IHS Jane's on 19 July, UKTI DSO head Stephen Phipson said the organisation had benefited from moves within the 2015 Strategic Defence and Security Review (SDSR) to enhance the exportability of defence equipment. According to Phipson, there has been a renewed push on ensuring that "when procurement specifications are put together, when the original capability is designed, we have exportability as a factor in that design consideration".
