Saudi Air Defence Intercepts Missile Launched From Yemen

5 July 2016

The Coalition Command for Supporting Legitimacy in Yemen announced that the Royal Saudi Air Defence Forces intercepted a ballistic missile which was launched from Yemeni territories towards the city of Abha, without causing any damage. The coalition air defence forces acted instantly and destroyed the missile launching platform.

In a statement today, the Command said that intercepted missile came as a continuation of the reckless acts perpetrated by the Houthi militias and deposed Saleh aiming to thwart international efforts to find a political settlement to the situation in Yemen.

The Coalition Command stressed determination to confront these acts, reiterating respect of its commitments to the international community and the Yemeni people to ensure the success of the ongoing consultations in Kuwait.
