Saab Receives Order for Carl-Gustaf Components

Defence and security company Saab has signed a contract on deliveries of components for the Carl-Gustaf man-portable weapon system. The order amounts to SEK 106 million and deliveries will take place during 2018.

The order comprises of components for the Carl-Gustaf system, a modern and effective ground support weapon system, designed and suitable for a wide range of missions.

“The multi-purpose capability of the Carl-Gustaf system provides freedom of action for the user in all environments. With this order we are strengthening our already strong position on the market within ground combat weapon systems”, says Görgen Johansson, Senior Vice President and Head of Saabs Business Area Dynamics.

The industry’s nature is such that due to circumstances concerning the product and customer, further information about the customer will not be announced.

Saab’s world-leading weapon system Carl-Gustaf has a long and distinguished service history all around the world. Employing a wide range of ammunition types, the Carl-Gustaf system allows dismounted soldiers to defeat multiple challenges – from neutralising armoured vehicles to clearing obstacles and engaging enemies in buildings. The system, which has been sold to more than 40 countries, is successively being developed with new ammunition types and enhanced capabilities.
