Honeywell has grown its Primus Elite® cockpit offerings with a new Federal Aviation Administration supplemental type certification for the Primus Elite Advanced Feature upgrade for Bombardier’s Global Express business jets.

This upgrade gives current Bombardier Global Express jet owners, using a Primus Elite cockpit, new software and hardware features that enable pilots to be more aware of their surroundings, while increasing safety.

Specifically, the upgrades include new liquid crystal displays and cockpit software that give pilots access to Honeywell’s SmartView® Synthetic Vision System, a 3-D color image of runways, terrain and obstacles to give pilots a clearer view of the flight path. This feature is especially valuable when flying into an unfamiliar airport in the dark or in bad weather.
