BCF Solutions wins $486 million USAF Security Systems Contract

15 April 2015

The U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) handed out several work contracts Monday, the most lucrative of which was a $486 million contract for force protection site security systems.

BCF Solutions Incorporated received the behemoth indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity Air Force contract, which tasks the company with providing for “worldwide acquisition, upgrade and sustainment of a family of integrated base defense security systems including: fixed-site intrusion detection systems, tactical automated security systems, and delay/denial systems."

BCF was one of 12 groups that submitted an offer for the work, which was awarded through a competitive acquisition on the Federal Business Opportunities’ website.

The Alabama-based company will work in various locations, with each spot being decided with each delivery order. The project should be finished by April 12, 2023.

The DoD awarded a nearly $40 million firm-fixed-price Navy contract to Parker Hannifin Customer Support Military Division for the repair of various F/A-18 and P-3 aircraft parts.

The deal is a five-year, sole source contract and was not landed competitively.

At the time of the first delivery orders, $4.32 million in fiscal 2015 Navy working capital funds will be obligated. The funds will not expire at the end of the present fiscal year.

All work on the project will be conducted in Irvine, Calif. and should be completed by December 2020.

BAE Systems Information and Electronic Systems Integration Incorporated is being granted a $26.07 million modification to an indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity Navy contract in order to exercise an option for the attainment of up to 250 Mode 5 combined interrogator transporter kits. The kits will be purposed for both the Navy and the Finnish and Swedish governments under Foreign Military Sale Program.

The option, according to the DoD, “provides for the procurement of up to 90 APX-111 Identification Friend or Foe, 50 each processors, interrogators, transponders, main chassis, power supplies, and receiver transmitters.”

The option also allows for the maximum possible attainment of 10 APX-111 repairs and 35 kit installations.

All of BAE’s work will be conducted in Greenlawn, N.Y. and should be finished by July 2017.

Illinois-based Navistar Defense has been awarded a $17.52 million firm-fixed-price Army contract which includes options to obtain seven Mine Resistant Ambush Protection MaxxPro Dash hardware kits for MaxxPro vehicle standardization and reset.

Navistar was the only company to submit a bid on the project.

The work will be conducted in Lisle, Ill. with an expected completion date of Dec. 31, 2015
