Textron Aviation expands operations in Australia with new service facility at Essendon Fields Airport
25 February 2025
Textron Aviation has announced its expansion in Australia with a larger, more modern service facility at Melbourne's Essendon Fields Airport to better support Cessna, Beechcraft and Hawker customers in the region. The new facility will provide more space to service aircraft and speed up schedules to minimize downtime and better support customer operations. Construction is scheduled to begin in March 2025, and Textron Aviation plans to have the new facility fully operational by early 2026.
Beechcraft, Cessna and Hawker customers can receive factory-direct support, maintenance and modification services from Textron Aviation, Inc. , a Textron Inc. (NYSE: TXT) company, delivered through a global network of service and parts centers, mobile service units and 24/7/365 1CALL AOG (Aircraft Ground Emergency Response) support.
The new facility will be more than double the size of the current facility, covering more than 35,000 square feet (3,343 m2 ). In response to customer feedback, the new facility will be located in a more central location at the airport, house a Textron Aviation parts stockroom for faster parts shipping, and feature a new lounge where customers can relax comfortably while their aircraft are serviced.
"Building this new facility to support the more than 1,400 aircraft operating in the Asia Pacific region demonstrates our strong commitment to providing our customers with the best factory-direct maintenance and service solutions," said Brian Rohloff, senior vice president of Customer Support. "This investment will strengthen our capabilities to provide faster and more precise support for routine maintenance, modifications and aircraft ground emergency response."
This news follows Textron Aviation's announcement in June 2024 of a move to a larger, more modern facility at Perth's Jandakot Airport and a parts warehouse at Essendon Fields Airport to strengthen its service capabilities and parts supply in the region. Additionally, Australian service center Premier Aviation Maintenance, acquired by Textron Aviation in 2020, has changed its name to Textron Aviation Australia Pty Ltd. to fully integrate its facilities in Perth, Gold Coast and Melbourne into the company's comprehensive global service network.
