Textron Aviation Delivers First Twin-Turboprop Cessna SkyCourier to Canada

11 February 2025

Textron Aviation today announced the first delivery in Canada of its twin-engine turboprop multirole aircraft, the Cessna SkyCourier , to Air Bravo Corporation. With operations in Thunder Bay, Sudbury, Barrie and Meaford, Ontario, Air Bravo provides passenger, cargo and air ambulance services. The model, in cargo configuration, will be used for regional logistics. The Cessna SkyCourier is designed and manufactured by Textron Aviation Inc., a Textron Inc. company.

“The SkyCourier is a versatile aircraft with a flexible cabin, high payload, excellent performance and low operating costs. It has quickly proven to be an ideal choice for a variety of missions,” said Lannie O’Bannion, senior vice president, global sales and flight operations, Textron Aviation. “We look forward to Air Bravo using the aircraft to strengthen and expand its operations.”

With the ability to be operated by a single pilot, the SkyCourier is the ideal solution for air cargo, passenger and special mission transportation. The highly versatile aircraft allows for rapid configuration changes to meet virtually any need, ensuring an excellent return on investment. In addition, its operational capabilities allow it to operate efficiently in remote areas.

Founded in 2001, Air Bravo has become one of Ontario’s most successful airlines. The company provides reliable passenger, cargo and air ambulance services to virtually any airstrip in North America.

“We are proud to be the first SkyCourier customer in Canada, and this aircraft is an ideal choice to strengthen our cargo operation,” said Rick Horwath, president and CEO of Air Bravo. “The cockpit is spacious, the piloting is simple and the avionics are intuitive. We look forward to putting it into service.”

About Cessna SkyCourier:

Textron Aviation announced that the Cessna SkyCourier has received type certification from Transport Canada Civil Aviation (TCCA) in late 2024. The twin-engine, high-wing turboprop aircraft offers a combination of performance and lower operating costs for air cargo, passenger and special mission operators. It is available in freighter and passenger versions, as well as a Combi or gravel runway kit configuration, offering maximum flexibility.

The cargo version can accommodate up to three LD3 containers, with an impressive payload capacity of 6,000 pounds. The 19-passenger version features crew and passenger doors for smooth boarding, as well as large cabin windows for natural light and views. Both configurations offer single-point pressure refueling, which speeds turnaround times.

The SkyCourier is powered by two Pratt & Whitney PT6A-65SC wing-mounted turboprop engines and is powered by the McCauley C779 propeller, a rugged and reliable 110-inch aluminum four-blade, reversible-pitch propeller designed to enhance the aircraft’s performance while carrying heavy payloads. The SkyCourier is operated with Garmin G1000 NXi avionics and has a maximum cruise speed of over 200 ktas and a maximum range of 900 nautical miles.
