NIMR, a leading manufacturer of combat-proven military wheeled vehicles, today signed a partnership agreement with Saudi Arabian Military Industries (SAMI) , a wholly owned subsidiary of the Public Investment Fund, to establish a framework for future collaboration to explore opportunities for the JAIS 4x4 vehicle in Saudi Arabia. The agreement was signed at the International Defense Exhibition and Conference (IDEX 2021).

His Excellency Pilot-General of the General Staff Faris Khalaf Al Mazrouei, chairman of the NIMR, and engineer Walid Abukhaled, executive director of SAMI, signed the agreement in the presence of His Excellency Engineer Ahmed A. Alohali, governor of the General Authorities for Military Industries (General Authorities for Military Industries, GAMI), His Excellency Turki bin Abdullah Al-Dakhil, Ambassador of the Guard of the UAE's Two Holy Mosques, His Excellency Faisal Al Bannai, executive director and managing director of EDGE, and other leading representatives of the two entities.

NIMR and SAMI have been negotiating the terms of a potential partnership; the partnership agreement closes this result. Created to lay the foundation for a long-term joint venture between the two entities, the agreement calls for NIMR to license technology to the Kingdom to enable local JAIS vehicle manufacturing and the development of Saudi Arabia's supply chain capabilities. This synergy is perfectly aligned with Saudi Vision 2030, which highlights the country's commitment to achieving the goal of making the industry local and diversifying the economy.

JAIS 4x4 competed with a wide variety of vehicles in demanding exercises created by SAMI and performed by military experts in Saudi Arabia. The exceptional performance of the battle-tested platform in the exercises paved the way for new opportunities for the vehicle in Saudi Arabia.
