Raytheon UK, a division of Raytheon Technologies, to deliver 12  new generation Condor Mk3 secondary surveillance monopulse radar systems   to NAV CANADA , with an option to purchase additional radar systems under a 15-year contract. The first radar system will be delivered in March 2021 and installed by NAV CANADA in April.

“We have supplied radar systems to NAV CANADA since 1959, and MSSRs since the 1980s,” said John Gallagher, Managing Director of Weapons & Sensors, Raytheon UK. “The more advanced Condor Mk3 was designed and developed by engineers at Raytheon UK in Harlow, Essex , England, and will be manufactured at our plant in Glenrothes, Scotland, which will help maintain 70 jobs at Harlow and 20 jobs at Glenrothes over the next 15 years. "

The Condor Mk3 MSSR is an innovative, inexpensive new detection radar that guarantees a high probability of detection and brings together state-of-the-art surveillance technologies. It will provide reliable and state-of-the-art secondary radar to air traffic operators around the world.

Additional functions have been included in the system, such as adaptive automatic power control, fully configurable software, a high duty cycle transmitter and integrated ADS-B, all in a much smaller space.
