Genasys Inc. the global leader in Protective Communications, today announced additional follow-on Long Range Acoustic Device® (LRAD®) orders totaling $1.1 million from the U.S. military. The LRAD 100X and 450XL systems will be deployed by National Guard, Army, Navy, Air Force, and Coast Guard units stationed in the U.S. and overseas. To date, the U.S. Military has placed $6.2 million in follow-on LRAD orders this fiscal year.
“With rising tensions, civil unrest, and armed conflicts around the world, it is imperative that our military personnel be equipped with the long-range, clear communication and scalable escalation of force capabilities that LRADs provide,” said Richard Danforth, Chief Executive Officer, Genasys Inc. “LRADs are highly effective for early warning, establishing safe standoff distances, defusing dangerous situations, reducing civilian casualties, and ultimately saving lives.”
Jeff Palmer, Genasys’ Senior Director of Military Sales, added, “The National Guard (Guard) supports both state and federal requirements; and as we have seen recently, governors are increasingly calling upon the Guard for disaster relief, maintaining public order, and other critical operations. Putting LRADs in the hands of Guardsmen will significantly enhance the Guard’s ability to conduct its mission in all 54 states and territories.”
Supporting the full spectrum of military missions, from combat and counterinsurgency to disaster response and humanitarian operations, LRAD by Genasys systems offer superior performance and reliability. The most thoroughly tested Acoustic Hailing Devices available, LRADs are deployed in diverse applications by more than 100 countries to ensure audible alerts, warnings, notifications, commands, and other critical communications are clearly heard and understood from close range out to 5,000 meters.
