Integrated Communications Control System (ICCS)

Integrated Communications Control System

ICCS provides secure, fast and reliable communications for any type of warship, from patrol boats and submarines to aircraft carriers. The ICCS is a state-of-the-art system aimed at efficient control and management of the ship's overall communications, namely:

  • Internal and external communications
  • Equipment remote control and real-time status monitoring
  • Embedded Training facilities
  • Gateway to the Combat Management System (CMS)

A flexible design enables a variety of system implementations, as far as the architectural aspects are concerned. Depending on the ship size and operational role, either centralized or fully distributed versions can be selected.

More than 100 EID systems were chosen by the following navies:

  • Australia
  • Brazil
  • Denmark
  • Lithuania
  • Malaysia
  • Netherlands
  • Portugal
  • Spain
  • United Kingdom
  • Uruguay

Automatic Message Handling System

MOST4 SHIPS - Automatic Message Handling System

MOST4 Ships is an automatic message handling system, featuring a comprehensive set of facilities aimed at reducing the overheads of traditional, on-board message management tasks. Providing a substantial degree of automation, the system reduces the operator's workload, thus minimizing the likelihood of occurrence of operational and administrative mistakes.

The reduction of the ship's complement, as far as skilled communication operators are concerned, is also a significant benefit. MOST4 Ships supports the simultaneous operation of all circuits (ship-shore, inter-ship, local and area broadcasts) in accordance with ACP127 message formats and procedures.

STANAG 4406 compliant solutions can also be integrated in MOST 4 Ships, fulfilling ship message requirements in a transition period from ACP 127 to Tactical MMHS.

Vehicular Intercom

The ICC-201 and ICC-251 Digital Intercom systems are the right and optimal solution for vehicular and shelter-based applications. They enable intercommunication among crew members of an armoured vehicle, a shelter or a fast patrol boat and their access to radio equipment providing voice and data communications, either over the air or via standard copper or ruggedized fibre optic cables. Voice over IP (VoIP) functionality for inter vehicular communication and connection to IP based tactical backbones are also possible.

Wireless terminals and wireless headsets are available for wire free communications; in this way, a crew member outside the vehicle can communicate with the on-board crew and even communicate through the radios installed inside the vehicle. The equipment features complex digital signal processing algorithms and may include Active Noise Reduction (ANR) headsets to be fully compatible with extremely noisy environments such as tracked vehicles and fast patrol boats.

Field Communications

The CD-116 field digital switchboard is a state-of-the-art digital switching unit for military field tactical networks requiring integration of voice and data communications. With the CD-116, a wide range of equipment may be integrated in a field communications system, including:

  • Analogue telephones: common battery (CB), common battery signaling (CBS) and local battery (LB)
  • Digital terminals and computers
  • Combat net radios and other type of radio sets
  • Other switchboards, even old magnet type ones

The BLC-201 field telephone is a rugged, lightweight and waterproof analogue telephone set designed according to military requirements and suitable for connection to manual (magneto) or automatic two-wire switchboards, to a similar telephone or directly to the public telephone network (PSTN).

The telephone electronics is based on DSP technology, using a high efficiency electronic ring generator for low power consumption and long battery life and operates in CB, CBS or LB modes. Silent calls with extra microphone amplification are allowed by selecting "Whisper mode" operation.

Combat Net Radio

The PRC-525 high-performance digital combat net radio covers HF, VHF and UHF bands with a single piece of equipment. Thanks to different high-speed data modes and protocols as well as different anti-jam modes, it perfectly integrates into secure tactical communications networks. This software-defined radio enables new features and releases to be simply downloaded, even when deployed in the field. A full line of accessories is available, including radio docking stations, such as the MT-525D, a double docking station for vehicles and shelters, with embedded VHF power amplifier, remote consoles, antenna tuning unit (HF ATU) and wire antennas.

All accessories are fully compatible with Rohde & Schwarz M3TR combat net radio
