DSEI 2009: Vitavox attended The Defence System & Equipment International Exhibition (DSEi) over the period 8th-11th September 2009. DSEi is the world’s largest fully integrated defence and security fair, bringing together senior international trade and military experts from across the entire Global supply chain in an optimal business environment. At DSEi Vitavox were showcasing their land & naval systems with components for applications which are the toughest and longest lasting in the defence market available today. The main focus being the launch of Vitavox’s newly developed ‘Outacom Communications System™’. Outacom™ is an easily implemented, tactical battlefield communications innovation that will reduce the risk of unintended civilian or military casualties plus the risk of needless and politically damaging collateral damage. This could involve confronting suspects approaching on foot at a safe distance, or those who may be using a vehicle or operating within a crowded place. Outacom™ will allow the deployed forces to deal with these challenging situations, minimizing by avoidance any impact on bystanders or other damaging collateral effects. Outacom also reduces the risk of the inadvertently using lethal force as the first option. The Vitavox solution is suitable for use by Armed Forces on current operations in a variety of situations from foot patrols through to deployment at fixed military installations. The ability to be able to deter people from approaching when instructed not to – for example, a potential suicide bomber, to disrupt enemy ability to monitor friendly force activity by getting closer than required and to allow the user to stop or physically detain people as required are among the functions that the Outacom System™ will provide. Outacom™ is a less than lethal audio system allowing the vehicle commander or those operating in a crowded place to communicate up to a range of 250 metres and can be integrated with any existing land vehicle intercom system in theatres such as Afghanistan or Iraq. It can be uniquely deployed as either a plug and play addition to the existing vehicle communications system or in a standalone configuration allowing the operational crew the opportunity to reason verbally at a distance with the suspected miscreants in their own language before committing to a potentially more damaging course of events. The Outacom Communications System™ has a failsafe function to enable isolation from the internal comms system and prevent unintended output. It is MIL-STD-810, Waterproof, Shockproof & blast proof to 70G. CDE LTLWE Seminar: Vitavox will be attending The Centre for Defence Enterprise (CDE) “Less than Lethal Weapons Effects” Seminar on Thursday 26th November 2009 at 12:30-16:30 in Harwell to showcase the Outacom Communications System™ as an existing less than lethal effect that may be deployed now. CDE is the Ministry of Defence's gateway for UK industry, academia and innovators helping to ensure Armed Forces are best equipped now and in the future. http://www.science.mod.uk/ Further information on Vitavox products and systems can be found on the Vitavox website at www.vitavox-sound.com or contact Head of Business Development, email@example.com.
Embarking and disembarking divers requiring the hands free operation of a fully pressure and waterproof communications system can now rely upon the Vitavox DCIS. This system is controlled by the dive chamber operator on the ‘dry side’ of the chamber whilst the ‘wet side’ is able to communicate without the need to take any physical action other than speaking. Vitavox's DCIS will last the full life of the boat with minimal maintenance and repairs being required.
