In July this year, we sent you an update about the JRZ Maxxis tyre with a 1800kg payload, designed especially for armoured vehicles. This tyre complied with EU regulations up until 31 October 2016.
As per 1 November, the legislation for tyre approvals has been changed, specifically on rolling resistance and - noise (R117). We are pleased to announce that the Dutch RDW has approved the JRZ-Bravo Maxxis HT770 on these and all other criteria!
As of July 1, 2016, TSS International BV in The Netherlands were appointed official European distributor for B&G Electronics.
The collaboration between Columbia-based B&G Electronics and TSS International ensures that B&G acquire a reliable and respected partner within Europe, and provides TSS International with a new product in their quest to expand their already high-quality selection for the armoured and civilian vehicle market.
Changing EU-regulations (“Article R117”) regarding tyre approvals have presented the civilian armouring industry with a problem: armoured vehicles which are continuously increasing in weight cannot be equipped with tyres with a suitable payload. The maximum achievable load index was always 125 (1650kg).
With the new legislation, in which rolling noise and -resistance are partly determining factors, the maximum load index must actually be reduced, while the market is demanding an increase of the payload.
After the enormous success of the 18" TSS Heavy Duty Wheel with 1800kg payload, we are proud to announce the introduction of a new 20" rim for armoured luxury vehicles! This 9x20 rim is suitable for most vehicles with a 5-lug wheel hub and has a certified payload of no less than 1600kgs. To be more specific about the applications: the Mercedes S-Class, Mercedes GL, Audi A8, BMW 7 series, Lexus LS, Porsche Cayenne and Maybach 62S and many more will be able to carry the weight of the VIP's and their protection with the help of TSS Heavy Duty Wheels.
Since our last update, a lot has been going on at TSS International. In this email, we would like to tell you about some of the latest developments. You will find more information furtheron in this e-mail.
