Iran has unveiled new home-made naval equipment during a ceremony attended by navy commander, Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari on Nov. 26, the Islamic Republic’s state IRINN TV reported.
The equipment include special navigation radar with capability to detect up to 100 targets at once in electronic warfare, sea-based land and air fire-control system dubbed "Samen", as well as a training simulator for submarine divers.
Iranian media outlets report that the Islamic Republic has made great achievements in its defense sector and attained self-sufficiency in producing essential military equipment and systems in recent years.
Since 1992, Iran has manufactured its own tanks, armored personnel carriers, missiles, radars, boats, submarines and fighter planes. Iran also unveiled its first domestically-manufactured long-range Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) in 2010.
