AECOM announced it has been awarded a $45-million task order by the United States Navy to provide engineering and technical support services to the Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Dahlgren Division. The task order has a one-year base period with four one-year options available.

Under the task order, AECOM will continue to provide design, development and engineering services for the production of the Navy and Marines’ newest, most-advanced radar systems. AECOM supports NSWC’s radar systems division, also known as Q40, in developing the Navy’s advanced missile defense radar, multi-function radar and dual-band radar, as well as the Marines’ ground/air task-oriented radar.

AECOM will model, test, analyze and evaluate all aspects of tactical fire control radars for mechanical, electrical, functional and sustainable performance. It will also provide software experts to design, develop and maintain tactical computer programs at the highest quality to support government defense missions at home and abroad. Other services provided by AECOM will include program management; system integration; radar performance modelling and simulations; “at-sea” and field testing; and a variety of engineering disciplines, such as systems, mission, security, safety, communications and networks.

“Our team provides a unique and skilled set of subject matter experts to support the Naval Surface Warfare Center’s Dahlgren Division,” said Randy Wotring, president of AECOM’s management services group. “We are excited to have been chosen as a prime contractor and look forward to continuing our partnership with the U.S. Navy under this task order.”
